CORE is family. Military kids, Moorestown kids, Mt. Laurel kids...we come from all around.
If you would like to donate to our Family fund or our Denise Sonnenlitter Award, please inform the front desk.
We have many families with kids of various ages, not just graduating seniors, who need a positive activity in a safe place. But, they need some financial assistance to make it happen. If you'd like to donate to our Family Fund, please inform the front desk.
Denise Sonnenlitter was one of my dance sisters in my hometown, Youngstown, Ohio. After waging a very courageous battle with cancer, Denise Sonnenlitter passed away Friday morning, June 14th, 2002, at her parent’s residence. She was 24 years old. Denise graduated from the Exercise Science Program at Youngstown State University in August of 1999. Denise will always be remembered as a loyal friend who loved life and had a passion for dance.
The outpour of support from our studio families at J and J's Dance was utterly breathtaking. The studio hosted a benefit to raise money for her family to pay her unexpected medical bills. Read our press release here. The benefit brought in a staggering $30,000+ I still can't believe the amount of people who didn't know Denise, but came to support the cause.
Still today, at J & J's Dance in Youngstown, Ohio and here at CORE, a deserving senior who 1) maintains an honor roll GPA 2) intends to go to college and 3) studies the three classical disciplines of dance; Ballet, Jazz and Tap, receives both recognition and a financial award from his/her dance family. The greatest part of all, is that they are taught about giving back, and past recipients have returned to CORE to teach, applaud and visit. What a great way to send off our youth!
Proceeds are collected from water and refreshment sales both in our studio and at performances as well as flower sales at our performances.
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY and appreciate any donation.
